Walk on the wild cliffs: from Bray to Greystones

Une autre petite promenade sympathique à faire aux abords de Dublin, au sud cette fois-ci. La balade part de Bray pour aller jusqu'à Greystones, qui sont deux villes côtières. Le long des falaises, la promenade se déroule au dessus de la ligne de DART. J'ai fait cette balade avec mon petit grand frère, Antoine, quand il m'a rendu visite fin février. Même s'il n'avait pas envie de marcher et qu'il n'arrêtait pas de me demander "quand est-ce qu'on arrive à Greystones", il a reconnu que c'était une belle promenade qui ne demande pas d'effort physique particulier.

Another nice short walk on the outskirt of Dublin, in the south this time. The walk starts from Bray and goes to Greystones; both are coastal towns. The walk passes along the cliffs above the DART line. I did this walk with my little big brother, Antoine who visited me by the end of February. Even if he did not want to walk and he kept on asking 'when are we in Greystones', he admitted that it was a beautiful walk that did not require any particular physical effort.

Aller à Bray -  Going to Bray

 

Pour se rendre à Bray depuis le centre ville de Dublin, le plus simple est de prendre le DART, qui est le train de banlieue de  Dublin. La station la plus proche est Tara Street Station, qui est à cinq minute à pied de O'Connell Bridge. Le trajet de Tara Street Station à Bray Station dure environ quarante minutes. Arrivé à Bray, il faut marcher vingt minutes pour se rendre à la promenade.

To go to Bray from Dublin city centre, the simplest way is to take the DART which is the suburb train. The closest station is Tara Street Station which is at a five-minute walk from O'Connell Bridge. The journey from Tara Street Station to Bray Station lasts aproximately fourty minutes. When in Bray you have to walk twenty minutes to go to the beginnig of the walk.

La ballade fait un peu moins de 8 kilomètres et contient très peu de dénivelé. Le chemin est goudronné la plupart du temps, donc pas besoin d'équipement spécial, prenez seulement une bonne paire de basket. Pour aller de Bray à Greystones, il faut environ deux heures. La promenade est très agréable puisqu'elle est à flanc de falaise et surplombe la ligne de DART et la mer. 

The walk is less than 8 kilometres and has very few difference in height. The path is made of tarmac most of the time, so no need to overequip yourself, just take a good pair of trainers. It takes approximately two hours to go from Bray to Greystones. The walk is really nice as it goes along the cliffs, above the DART line and the sea.
